Comedy Central developing TWO new animated shows for Digital
After the successful launch of the Dan St. Germain series In Security, Comedy Central Digital is upping its bets that more animated comedy is a good thing. For those that don’t know, Comedy Central Digital is the online arm of Comedy Central that procures content from a number of stand up comedians as sort of a farm system where if the shows get really popular, the possibility of producing content (both animated and other wise) could make its way to television. This year, In Security gained a rather impressive underground following on CC: Studios, and now according to The Hollywood Reporter we’ve got two more animated comedies in development. Check out quick hits of what each show is about:
• Biatches (working title): Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov (Punk’d, Good Vibes) wrote and star in this animated series about bad girls kicked out of middle school and forced to attend the special education students program, which isn’t going to stop them from wreaking their raunchy brand of havoc.
• Pixelheads: CC:Studios has partnered with GameTrailers to produce and distribute a video game focused animated sketch series. Segments feature Steve Agee, Rich Fulcher, Jordan Morris,Ron Funches, Brent Morin, Peter Giles, Andrew Bachelor, H. Michael Croner and Matt Cook.
I’m being told neither of these shows will debut this year and as of this writing we are unsure if In Security is being picked up for a second season. Pixelheads sounds particularly interesting for fans of Code Monkeys and Biatches includes peeps from the stellar MTV series Good Vibes. No word yet as to air dates for the new series, but when we find out we will let you know!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
