Blu-Ray Review: Futurama Volume 8

Futurama isn’t just a television show…its a lost art form. In an era when most of our animated TV shows are moving towards quicker ways of doing things, the special features of Futurama go into pretty radical detail as to what makes this thing happen. Futurama University is probably one of my favorite animation documentaries of the year because it isn’t all about how to make a show, it’s all about how we are slowly but surely watching one of the true American/Korean art forms come to pass.

Are you someone who fancies themself on learning both old school and new school techniques used in animating one of television’s jewels? From 3-D to hand-drawn to how Photoshop played a role in the look of Futurama, it is absolutely inspiring to watch all of these people do what it is they do for a living. The deleted scenes and episode commentaries are one thing, but this thing, however this is something you should buy for that time capsule you plan to plant in your backyard.

Then in the year 3000 I look forward to Terminators opening up said capsule, popping in this release, and lighting up a cigar while doing so. A definite buy for Christmas:
