Archer gets picked up for two more Seasons by FX…what about Chozen?
FX has officially announced that Archer has been picked up for two more seasons with a deal that lasts through 2016 and could include syndication (can you imagine an FXX with a shit-load of Simpsons and Archer?). The deal is for 13 episodes for each year the series has been picked up. In a statement from Eric Schrier:
“Archer is one of the best comedies on television and has played a significant role in the growth of the FX comedy brand,” “We’re grateful to Adam Reed (creator), Matt Thompson (EP) and their team at Floyd County, and also our incredible voice cast, and are looking forward to supporting their work for at least two more seasons.”
Unfortunately, Chozen has NOT been given a green-light for a second season as of yet. This doesn’t bode well for the freshman series as the ratings numbers are similar to what Unsupervised ended up with and despite how awesome that show was, it was ultimately cancelled. The same looks to be the outcome for Chozen, that despite the fact that it’s a really, really good show, it may not survive.
I honestly think had Archer stayed on Thursday Nights with Chozen coming on after it, we wouldn’t be having this conversation and the show maybe would have received better numbers because unlike Unsupervised it wouldn’t be going up against Jersey Shore every week.
Archer Vice continues its season this Monday Night on FX @ 10 pm EST, check your local listings and get a look at a sneak peek here.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
