Anime Streaming News: Netflix ; Funimation

Streaming anime has been hot with Netflix, and the quality is starting to show with Annie Award nominations going out for BNA, Great Pretender, Blood of Zeus, and Transformers earlier this week. So, could adult animated series inspired by  Stargate and Predator be in the works at Netflix? Reports by Giant Freakin’ Robot seem to assume so, but we can tell you that Predator at Netflix isn’t happening. Stargate might be a bit more likely, but no talks have been had.

Following Toonami’s recent announcement that the March 6th airing of Attack on Titan will be a repeat as a result of Winter weather causing production delays at Funimation, the streaming service has confirmed the same thing and notes that March 14th will be the English dubbed premiere date of for the next episode of Attack on Titan entitled “Brave Volunteers”.  In the episode, as Paradis deals with the aftermath of the raid on Liberio, Armin looks back in the past to meeting the volunteer soldiers who reshaped their world.

The final season’s main staff includes directors Yuichiro Hayashi and Jun Shishido (chief), character designer Tomohiro Kishi, art director Kazuo Ogura, 3D CG Director Takahiro Uezono, scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko, and music composers Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto. MAPPA is the animation studio for the final studio having taken over from WIT.
