Amazon Working On Live-Action Adaptation Of “The Promised Neverland”

It doesn’t matter who it is, Netflix, Amazon, or feature film producers, some people are just not going to understand the gravity of attempting to develop anime properties into live-action anything. In any event, that hasn’t stopped Amazon from announcing that they are developing an English language/live-action adaptation of The Promised Neverland.

The horror-shonen was originally written by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu and is now being adapted by Masi Oka, Rodney Rothman, and Vertigo Entertainment in association with FOX 21 and Amazon Studios. Rothman will direct and executive produce while Meghan Malloy will write the pilot for what is being eyed as a full live-action series.
