Adult Swim Greenlights Animated Comedy Dream Corp, LLC
Over a year ago we told you guys about a new live-action/rotoscope animated comedy created by Daniel Stessen, executive produced by John Krasinski (and now another Office alum Stephan Merchant) being developed by Adult Swim called Dream Corp, LLC.
Dream Corp, LLC., an absurd workplace comedy set in a neglected dream therapy facility. This is the first Adult Swim original series to utilize the latest rotoscope technology, Dream Corp, LLC. will be an innovative standout in the current animation landscape. Each week viewers will watch as a rotating cast of desperate patients have their dreams recorded and analyzed by Dream Corp’s absent-minded professor, Dr. Roberts (Jon Gries), and his team of unremarkable scientists. The new series is set to start production in Los Angeles, CA later this year.
The actual setting of Dream Corp, LLC is an experimental therapy facility that creates a virtual reality for patients to confront issues in their waking life by simulating their wildest dreams. Guided by Dr. Roberts a team of unique scientists document and conduct their research that hasn’t been funded since 1992. Like a poorly maintained carnival ride, the program has developed some questionable kinks throughout the years. The patients change from week to week, but despite the advice of their loved ones and their own instincts, they keep coming back.
The concept of virtual reality is an interesting one and one that’s been taking hold of content producers the last couple of years. Industries such as pornography, gaming, and others are investing HUGE sums of money to see the potential in such a technology that already has manufacturers like Sony, Samsung, and others on board. As a result Dream Corp, LLC could certainly do for animated comedies what Inception did for dramatic film…ask the questions we all want to know the answers, too.
Like what’s on your mind?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
