Aasif Mandvi’s “Halal in the Family” To Be Adapted as an Animated Series
The former Daily Show correspondent could have a show that’s FOX-worthy.
In a recent feature done by New York Times, Aasif Mandvi (Daily Show) noted that he is working on an animated series adaptation of his live-action web series Halal in the Family.
Today, the live-action version of Halal in the Family is a satirical view as to what it’s like being a Muslim living in America ala a sitcom parody similar to some of the stuff that ABC is doing with franchises like Speechless (being handicapped in America), Black-ish (being black in America), and The Goldbergs (being Jewish in the 90s in America).
An animated series adaptation sounds like a super-good idea, something to the ilk of say The Simpsons but a Muslim take on the franchise I think would be a lot of fun. Your thoughts?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
