“Rick and Morty” & “South Park” McFarlane Construction Toys Coming This Summer**UPDATE
Holy toys.
Earlier this week, Cartoon Network inked with Funko Pop! for a bunch of toys featuring the network’s biggest adult animated franchise, Rick and Morty, but that’s not all.
According to Entertainment Weekly, McFarlane Toys will be releasing a Rick and Morty line of construction toys sometime in August. You’ll actually be able to mix and match popular Rick and Morty scenes like Rick’s lab in the Smith Family Garage, Scary Terry’s Boiler Room, and the Gromflam Base Science Lab.
By far, Rick and Morty is Adult Swim’s most licensed intellectual property, surely taking over the spot probably best held by either Venture Bros. or Metalocalypse by like a lot. The third season of the series is currently in production and expected to premiere sometime later this year.
Not one to be left out, Yahoo is reporting that South Park is also getting McFarlane toys this Summer with sets inspired by South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Coon & Friends, and Mr. Garrison’s classroom. The South Park toys are also slated to come this August which should be RIGHT on time for the 21st season of the Comedy Central series.
UPDATE Go ahead and add Steven Universe to the mix for McFarlane toys.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
