Cast Announced For FOX’s “Botcop”
Before 2015 went away, we told you guys about a new animated comedy that FOX wanted to look at for presentation called Botcop. For those that don’t recall, in 1985, Botcop was the cutting edge of law enforcement technology. But today, this half man, half robot’s dial-up internet and fax machine are as irrelevant as he is. Fired from the LAPD, he takes a minimum wage job as a guard in a wealthy gated community and moves in with his patrol partner, a single Dad in need of help, even if it’s from an arrogant cyborg unaware his best days are behind him.
The pilot presentation is being produced by Bento Box Entertainment and now, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we know who will be a part of the cast.
Kicking things off is Chris Meloni as the titular character, and Donald Faison (Scrubs) plays his partner, Wally Dubin. Wally’s a single dad with two kids, both adopted, Reuben and Lulu — who are voiced by John Leguizamo and Katy Mixon. Lulu, as it turns out, is the product of a serial killer family. Kate Mulgrew will voice Wally’s boss back at the station.
Look, the last time Bento Box tried to produce a series for FOX that was a buddy-cop comedy, the series as ordered for 13 episodes and we never got to see it, so I’m not believing anything I hear about this show until DAY OF. It sounds like a great idea, but I’ve been burned before.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
