Review: American Dad! “Anchorfran” (S13Ep9)

amdad

Tonight’s new episode of American Dad, “Anchorfran”, was pretty damn great. I wasn’t expecting a Francine-heavy episode to be all that great, even though I don’t know why– tons of Francine-heavy episodes are frantastic. See what I did there?

Anyway, “Anchorfran” starts off with the premise that Terry left Greg, and that now Greg does the news alone. This is funny to people who know about the show, since Mike Barker left the show, and was also the voice of Terry.

So basically, Francine becomes an anchor to help out Greg, her ego gets the better of her, and Stan gets perks to a local Mexican restaurant. At the same time, the side story of Steve, Hayley, and Roger playing a board game from the 90s is great too, and of course, Roger becomes obsessed with one of the board game models.

The ending is really hilarious, everything comes all together and Stan and Francine think they’ve saved the day and found Greg a new boyfriend, but… maybe not. The Roger story ends on a super dark note, and things are wonderfully awkward.

Overall, a great middle-of-the-season American Dad! episode– wish they were all this great, and hope there are many more to come.
