Expect fewer ads on ‘American Dad’ for TBS
You know what? I wasn’t crazy about Kevin Reilly on FOX, but I’m starting to like Kevin Reilly on TBS. Since he’s been on, Kevin has already picked up American Dad! for a couple of more seasons, and is starting to take chances on producers that could give TBS some differentials as compared to other comedy networks which seem to be sprouting up every friggin’ day. However, this next deal may be my favorite.
Kevin Reilly announced other day during his TCA presentation that he wants to improve viewership experience by reducing ad inventory by 50%. He also said that he sees TBS being “unapologetic, daring comedy that builds a bridge with (Turner’s) Adult Swim.” Really now? I wonder what Kevin means by that. Also, remember when Adult Swim used to be a “block of programming on Cartoon Network”…boy that’s changed hasn’t it?
The fewer ads thing is a great idea. Between online, TV, billboards, and the like, I’m constantly bombarded by advertisements and it can be tiresome. Seriously, I’ll fall asleep thinking about American Express and I don’t even have a credit card nor have any interest in getting one.
Kevin also noted that we should expect to hear about a number of pilot pick ups in the next couple of months probably right when we pull into Upfronts, so get ready for a flurry of updates sooner rather than later.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
