Review: SuperMansion “Babes in the Wood”

SuperMansion

Spoilers Below

Rex and Ranger are heading out for a camping trip and try to go by themselves, but everyone else opts to go as well. On the way, the group comes into contact with the locals whom teach Jewbot a new way to act being that he’s unplugged from his servers all the while pissing off Rex causing him to send one of the guys through the backside of a truck. Everyone heads to the campgrounds, pitches tents, and spend the evening telling scary stories. In the woods we can see the locals looking to get revenge on the earlier skirmish.

With Saturn and Lex trying to find new ways of taking their relationship to the next level, Cooch is going feral much to Brad’s delight…until she goes nuts and chases Brad through the woods. The big brute ends up slamming into Rex whom is smack in an argument with American Ranger over a previous affair AND Saturn banging out Lex in the woods. Rex finds out about the latter and goes ballistic causing Saturn to flee into the woods with no clothes on.

Jewbot teams with the locals in finding a chupacabra while Brad takes a bunch of drugs and heads into the woods after Cooch. Fortunately, she finds a naked Black Saturn and it allows a distraction long enough for Brad to trip with Cooch and get her back to normal just in time for the locals to show up. The crew ends up wrangling up half the team leaving just Rex to humiliate himself in front of everyone. Ranger shows up and destroys all with Bunsen to take on the leftovers.

The team heads home and we find out that Rex also banged American Ranger’s mom.

Our Take

So, let me get this straight. We can stream episodes of SuperMansion during a holiday, but we can’t say “fuck” with out a censor?

In any case, this week’s episode of SuperMansion really does remind me of a Thanksgiving dinner. You get a little helping of everybody, but there isn’t enough room for the turkey. So you go to sit down and eat, and by the time you finish your plate you really don’t want anymore, but you never did get any turkey and dessert is store bought.

The point? Nothing came out of the episode as truly satisfying, but you still got a decent meal out of it. But, with so much time divided among the different characters and plots, the prize bird never comes into focus, and you’re left trying to explain to your mother why you didn’t want one piece of the turkey she spent nine hours cooking.

I think I would have even preferred an episode where it was just Jewbot, American Ranger, and Rex heading into the woods with everyone else back home. Granted, the best part of the show ended up being Bunsen and his Bruce Lee moves, but there were so many sub plots that I could care less about. I mean, anything with Cooch in it is a friggin’ bore, and the Black Saturn/Lex bit was just odd on a couple of different levels. I would’ve liked to have seen more of the locals starting trouble, and Jewbot very well could have stolen the show had it not been for Bunsen whom officially needs a spin-off ordered, but there wasn’t anything presented to me that makes me want anymore.
