Review: Teen Titans Go! ‘Breakfast Cheese’
Have a little cheese with your breakfast after the jump!
Spoilers Below
The Titans are trying to start shit with the Hive although it looks as though they really weren’t doing anything. Robin and the crew beat the shit out of them anyway in what would be a case of assault and battery anywhere else, but that’s why we love cartoons! After bombing the bejesus out of the bad guys, the Titans crew heads back to HQ and talk up their victory, but Starfire thinks otherwise. While the rest of the gang celebrate by chainsawing a few slices of pizza, Starfire wants to start solving problems with no fighting whatsoever. The rest of the crew disagree, but after showing puppy eyes, the entire Teen Titans crew gets on board with a violence-free code of ethics when dealing with bad guys. Starfire begins telling the other Titans what they could do to be less violent, everything from video games, to swapping spiders, and scratching thyself. Unfortunately, when Robin decides not to kill a spider, he gets bit and TURNS INTO SPIDERMAN! No, just kidding, actually he just hallucinates, which was all part of the plan for Starfire.
The Titan alert goes off and the Titans are called into battle, only this time when they confront the Hive, they just forgive the bad guys for what they did wrong. Unfortunately, the Hive end up romping all over the heroes which causes Starfire to second guess her non-violent teachings. However, the team alters their weapons to deploy cute things which causes the Hive to be way more loving
An interesting concept to have all of the Titans believe non-violence and a rather entertaining week for Teen Titans. I especially enjoyed the opening where everyone goes through the hassle of using their weapons to do simple tasks like slicing pizza and whatnot. That said, I didn’t understand why Starfire turned all hippy to begin with. Furthermore, why is it that the Teen Titans only fight the Hive? I really think the series needs to start spicing up the characters so this way it doesn’t get TOO monotonous.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
