Spoilers Ahead!

This is a very Beth- centric issue, because almost everyone else is asleep. She gets woken up by Little Beth, who wants nothing more than either to sleep, or get smooches. Little Beth convinces her to get up, and get her some smooches She meanders into the living room, and sees that Wallow is on the couch with at least three people, under the sheets. Wallow and the girls fly up, and he starts smooching another girl. Then, it is revealed that they are all space assassins. Wallow is awestruck at this, not knowing who he is, or what role he is playing. At this point, Beth, single handedly takes out the 3 assassins. Her award? She got smooches from Frances, who is / was one of the assassins, and Wallow. The only thing I can think of is, “What the hell am I reading?”

Drawing with Catbug!

“Drawing with Catbug” was a really funny b-plot, and was actually more enjoyable than what the main story was. The story was Catbug showing you how to draw his friends. Well, maybe his interpretation of his friends. Chris turns into a sun with a body, Beth becomes an octopus (with a striking resemblence to Cthulu), Danny becomes a dragon, and Wallow just goes vroom!

This issue was just very underwhelming. The main story lacked every form of substance, and seemed only to bridge to the next arc of comics. I know it seems like the more ancillary characters are getting some face time, but this did nothing to advance Beth’s character, except to say she likes making out. The only redeeming value of this issue was “Drawing with Catbug,” but that was just for a laugh. I may go back to this if there is more to this story after next issue.

Overall: 5/10
