Indie French Studio Neiwa Interactive Announces Aerial War Film DAWN for Steam Release
Independent animation is pushing boundaries into high-octane aerial warfare. French micro-studio Neiwa Interactive has officially dropped the trailer and release date for its debut feature, DAWN—a gritty, 1-hour and 50-minute adult war film heading to Steam on November 10, 2026.
Originally envisioned as a modest one-hour project, DAWN ballooned into a nearly two-hour epic during a grueling five-year production cycle built entirely without a publisher by a tiny, dedicated team.
A Unique Visual Blend & Epic Soundscape
DAWN carves out a distinct artistic identity by blending three-dimensional aerial combat with hand-drawn, two-dimensional characters and cockpit interfaces.
The auditory experience matches the scale of the dogfights. The original orchestral score features sweeping choirs, traditional Bulgarian voices, and classical guitar work, anchored by a title song performed by Erin Austen.
The film also boasts a powerhouse indie voice-acting ensemble, featuring:
-
Sam Hughes
-
Kira Buckland
-
Lara Sawalha
-
Blythe Melin
-
Sandra Espinoza
-
Mark Mullens
-
Jeremiah Foltz
The Story: Deliver the Package
Set against a brutal backdrop of conflict, DAWN follows Zodiac 1, the last surviving ace of a dying rebellion. Given a single, unyielding directive—deliver the Package—he takes to the skies.
Tethered to his wing is an unmanned bomber, guided through the radio by an AWACS operator he has never heard before. Ahead of him lies an Empire whose elite aces are all too familiar with his legacy.
Intended strictly for adult audiences due to its intense depictions of war, the feature presents a completely fictional universe of nations and characters caught in the crossfire.
