English Dub Review: Tokyo Revengers: War of the Three Titan Arc “Give Me a Hand”
Overview
Takemichi plays the videotape Mikey slipped into the time capsule, which includes a message meant just for him. Mikey from twelve years ago reveals a darkness inside him that Shinichiro, Emma, and Baji had kept at bay. Having lost everyone who could stop him, Mikey has cut ties with the Tokyo Manji Gang, distancing himself from his friends. After learning of Mikey’s anguish, Takemichi ignores the danger and tries to make contact.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Tokyo Revengers delivers one of its most intense and emotionally charged episodes yet, placing the spotlight on Mikey and the darkness he has been struggling with. The time capsule offers some much-needed insight into his character, while Takemichi’s determination to reach him highlights just how selfless he can be. Their relationship also draws some interesting parallels to Naruto and Sasuke, particularly in how far one is willing to go to save the other.
The rest of the proceedings take a dramatic turn as Takemichi finds himself caught in a desperate situation, leading to an emotional confrontation that pushes their bond to its limits. While some of the events stretch believability, particularly Takemichi’s incredible ability to endure punishment, the emotional weight of their interactions makes this a memorable installment. The time-travel element also introduces an intriguing new direction for the story, leaving plenty of questions about what lies ahead.
Overall, this is one of the most compelling arcs so far, giving Mikey’s character greater depth while exploring the pain that can remain even when everyone else seems happy. Takemichi’s determination to help him is admirable, though his tendency to shoulder everything alone can be frustrating when he has so many friends willing to support him. Despite a few over-the-top moments, the episode succeeds in building anticipation for what comes next.
