English Dub Review: A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special “Into the Shadow”
Overview
Desir and the others counterattack The Esteban Barbarian Tribe in the Shadow World’s Town of Evernatten to correct mistakes in history…
Our Take
A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special follows Desir Herrman as he continues working to prevent a disastrous future using his knowledge of what lies ahead. The second season reintroduces familiar characters while setting the stage for new challenges, with the newly added Azest standing out during some exciting battles. Meanwhile, Desir and Pram work to strengthen their connections as new developments begin to unfold.
Although the series retains much of its predecessor’s formula, the premiere features noticeable improvements in animation, fight choreography, and overall visual presentation. FLOW’s opening theme is another highlight, bringing plenty of energy to the season’s return. However, the pacing occasionally feels rushed, making certain transitions confusing, particularly for viewers who no longer remember how the previous season ended.
Overall, this was a decent comeback with improved visuals, entertaining action, and enough intrigue to keep things interesting. Despite some awkward pacing and a setup that could have been handled more smoothly, the premiere shows promise. Hopefully, the remaining episodes will build on these improvements and deliver an adventure worth the wait.
