‘South Park’ Targets Big Tech Data Centers in Season 29 Episode 2 “Billionaire Weenietown”
Following a massive, record-breaking return for its 29th season—rebranded for its current narrative arc as South America—Comedy Central’s flagship animated series is wasting no time setting its satirical sights on tech industry billionaires.
The season’s second entry, “Billionaire Weenietown,” premieres Wednesday, September 30, at 10:00 PM ET/PT on Comedy Central, before landing on Paramount+ and On Demand the following day across the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
Butters Takes On Big Tech
While the premiere put the core four—Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny—front and center, “Billionaire Weenietown” shifts the spotlight onto fan-favorite Butters Stotch as he takes on the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure in small-town America.
Riding High On Critical and Ratings Momentum
The spotlight on tech infrastructure comes as South Park enjoys one of its most celebrated eras in its nearly three-decade history. The Season 29 premiere delivered double-digit gains in key demographics over last year’s debut, crowning it as the #1 non-sports cable broadcast for the week.
The ratings surge caps off a banner year of industry recognition for co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone:
-
Emmy Dominance: The series secured its sixth Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program.
-
Historic Honors: South Park became the first-ever animated project recognized by the Television Academy Honors, alongside a nomination from the Producers Guild of Awards (PGA) for Best Episodic Comedy.
-
Cable Ratings King: The show finished as the #1 cable series among Adults 18–49 in 2025, driven by a return to classic, town-focused storytelling that delivered the franchise’s highest viewer share in 27 years.
With “Billionaire Weenietown,” the series looks to keep its hot streak alive by tackling neighborhood frustration over tech moguls, proving once again that no cultural trend is safe from the quiet mountain town.
Following this week’s broadcast, South Park will adopt a bi-weekly rollout for the remainder of its run. Fresh episodes are slated to air October 14, October 28, November 11, and November 25.
