English Dub Review: Daemons of the Shadow Realm “The Hunted and the Hunter”

After an intense battle, Ivan escapes. He teleports back to Shingo, who appears to be in trouble.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Daemons of the Shadow Realm delivers another intense round of action as Ivan proves to be an incredibly dangerous opponent. His ability to combine his Daemons with his sword techniques gives him a major advantage, while the battle also reveals that his power comes with some serious limitations. The episode keeps the action moving without losing sight of the characters caught in the middle of it.
The rest of the proceedings also introduces Mineyama, a strange and rather unhinged girl connected to Ivan and a previously unknown village called Nishino. Her arrival raises plenty of questions about Ivan’s motives and hints that there may be much more happening behind the scenes. Meanwhile, the growing tension between Yuru, Asa, Danji, and the fake Asa sets the stage for an interesting confrontation.
Overall, this was another solid episode that continues building the larger mystery surrounding Ivan and the people working behind the scenes. The action is intense, the darker moments are balanced with some unexpected humor, and the introduction of new characters keeps the story moving forward. With several unanswered questions now hanging in the air, the series is becoming increasingly difficult to predict.
