MoistCr1TiKaL’s Ultra-Violent Comic GodSlap Is Getting a Animated Movie Adaptation

Megastar streamer and YouTuber Charlie “MoistCr1TiKaL” White is taking his comic book venture to the big screen. Lyrical Animation and White’s own Meatier Productions have officially announced a full-length, 2D hand-drawn animated film adaptation of his hit comic series GodSlap, targeting a theatrical release in 2028.

The project is being backed directly by White as sole financier, putting millions of his own capital behind what he describes as a lifelong dream project.

What Is GodSlap?

Set in the grimy sci-fi dystopia of Montpelier, GodSlap centers on Aius, an 18-year-old farm boy with a terrifyingly powerful gift: the ability to deliver lethal, god-tier slaps. Raised in hiding by an overprotective father who views his son’s destructive ability as a curse, Aius is forced out into the world after a single night of rebellion destroys everything he knows.

Out in the wild, Aius must navigate the ruthless, slap-dominated underworld of Montpelier and decide whether his incredible force makes him a monster—or the only person capable of bringing down the corrupt megacorporation ruling the city.

Heavyweights Behind the Scenes

While creator-backed projects often face hurdles, the creative team assembled for GodSlap brings heavy industry credentials including Powerhouse Animation Studios—the powerhouse behind Netflix hit sagas like Castlevania, Castlevania: Nocturne, and Blood of Zeus—is handling the 2D hand-drawn animation. Director: Kellan Stover will helm the feature film and script duties fall to Daniel Dominguez (Creative Director at Lyrical Animation) and Jacob Robinson (Head of Lyrical Animation). Lyrical Animation (How to Blow Up a Pipeline, Bruiser) is producing alongside White’s Meatier Productions banner.

From Independent Comic to Theatrical Dream

White originally pitched the concept of an animated adaptation to Powerhouse Animation as far back as 2018. While initial costs temporarily shelved the idea, the studio reconnected with White three years ago to make the feature film a reality.

In a statement regarding the announcement, Lyrical Animation’s Daniel Dominguez called GodSlap “one of the funniest, most non-stop surprising, and thematically urgent comics to come out in the last decade,” praising its anime-infused action and dark satire.

With production currently underway and a short teaser already unveiled across White’s channels, GodSlap joins the growing trend of digital creators funding independent feature films for theatrical distribution—following the path forged by Markiplier’s upcoming Iron Lung.
