Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, we get another fun installment that consistently displays how much charm can come from the smallest interactions between Sasaki and Tayama. Their exchanged notes were especially sweet, with both using simple words of encouragement to help each other through their respective struggles. Neither needs to openly confess their feelings for these gestures to feel meaningful, and the fact that Sasaki carefully keeps Tayama’s note makes their growing connection even more endearing.

The rest of the proceedings also gives Tayama more opportunities to let her guard down. Her attempt to tease Sasaki about the supposed ghost backfires when she ends up being the scared one, instinctively grabbing onto him for reassurance. Their playful chemistry carries into the ending, with Tayama waiting for Sasaki and surprising him with a water gun before they cool off together. Even the smaller comedic moments, like the dog showing up and the manager happily watching their relationship develop, add to the episode’s charm. While Sasaki’s occasional dense-protagonist moments can still be frustrating, his growing attentiveness toward Tayama makes their interactions increasingly enjoyable.

Overall, this was another wonderfully wholesome episode that proves this series doesn’t need dramatic confessions or major developments to make its romance work. The notes, teasing, quiet moments of reassurance, and playful summer antics all show how their relationship continues to grow naturally. After such a long wait for new episodes, it was especially nice to return to the series with an episode this warm, charming, and effortlessly sweet.
