English Dub Review: You and I Are Polar Opposites “New School Term”

Overview:

The new term begins. Taira realizes that he has been under a misconception for years. Suzuki takes Yamada to the school library, with an ulterior motive in mind. Nishi is happy that Yamada came, but anxious that others might find out about their relationship. When Honda asks what that relationship is, Nishi feels absolutely overwhelmed, but with a little nudge, Nishi realizes her true feelings.

Our Take(Spoilers):

It’s been a while since I did something like this, but I wanted to mention the OP and the ED. The OP is called “Neko Jarashi,” and it’s by 7co. The ED is called “Unmei no Kimi” by Mega Shinnoske. They both have a synth pop sound to me. I love them both, but the ED might be my favorite because of the visuals that go along with it. It shows most of the cast with headphones on, floating in the air with a satisfied look on their face. With how much I enjoy the song, it’s hard not to think that’s the song they’re listening to. If you love this show as much as I do, I think the songs will amplify your love for the show.

This season of You and I Are Polar Opposites is doing everything I wanted in this series. Suzuki and Tani have some focus still, but they’re a happy couple, and we should be focusing on others. I prefer Taira and Azuma, but I’m more than happy to focus on Yamada and Nishi as well.

Up until now, Nishi’s friend, Honda, has been holding a secret. I love Honda because of the funny face she makes whenever she witnesses something cute that Nishi and Yamada do. But things weren’t always so cut and dry. There was a time when she hated Nishi and tried to push her away. Then she realized what we all have realized: that Nishi is a sweet cinnamon roll and deserves our love.

She has become such a good friend to Nishi that she helped her realize her feelings. Nishi has decided that she would be sad if Yamada eventually fell in love with someone else, so she decides to go all in on her love. It might have had an unknown rocky start, but it’s nice to see that Honda is such a good friend to Nishi.

Nishi gets some unexpected help from Suzuki as well, who has given herself the role of wingwoman. Tani is slow when it comes to things like that, but even he eventually notices that Nishi and Yamada have a thing for each other. I hope we get to see Tani try his hand at being a wingman. At the very least, I think him and Suzuki helping other couples would be funny.

Friendships can also be the start of a great relationship, and that’s what I hope is the case with Taira and Azuma. They’ve been spending a lot of time together, and it’s made Taira realize something. All this time, whenever Azuma gives him advice, he’s been thinking she’s doing it to make fun of him. He’s since realized that she actually cares about him. They’re by far the couple I’m most invested in, and I hope we continue to get this much content with them.
