English Dub Review: Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun “A Misfit Casual Gathering / Netherworld Devotee”

Overview

The Misfit Class has a party at Iruma’s Mansion, and then Iruma later helps Opera perform their daily duties.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, this installment delivers one of its funniest outings yet as the Misfit Class celebrates the Netherworld’s end-of-year festivities. What starts as a cheerful gathering quickly descends into complete chaos, resulting in a barrage of hilarious character moments, exaggerated antics, and some of the best group chemistry the series has to offer. Nearly every member of the class gets a chance to stand out, making for an energetic and consistently entertaining first half.

The rest of the proceedings then slows things down by shifting its attention to Opera, offering a welcome look at the demanding responsibilities he shoulders every day. Beyond the comedy, this quieter segment adds meaningful depth to his character while highlighting the dedication and loyalty that define him. It also strengthens his relationship with Iruma, providing a heartfelt change of pace before the story begins moving toward its next major development.

Overall, this was another excellent episode that effortlessly balances over-the-top comedy with genuine character growth. The first half delivers nonstop laughs, while the second gives one of the series’ most dependable characters a well-deserved moment in the spotlight. More importantly, it lays the groundwork for the next arc that’s been teased after the credits, making for an entertaining and satisfying transition into what’s ahead.
