English Dub Review: Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World With Garbage Balancing “The Noble’s Duty”
Overview:
Allen may have figured out his class, but that doesn’t mean he’s figured out the world.
Our Take:
For the first time since this show started, we saw Allen bite off a little more than he could chew. Getting over the weird fact that Japanese orcs always look like pigs, but they pack a punch as well. Right when it seems like Allen is going to get his ass beat, Zenof the knight shows up with his squad. While Allen is happy for the help, he also knows that now his abilities are no longer a secret. It turns out that the baron had an idea this whole time, since monsters started to die in droves once Allen showed up.
It wasn’t all good news, though. Today, we learned what the nobles’ duty is. Mihai, the baron’s son, is drafted into a war or some sort of battle. As you can imagine, he didn’t survive, and that leads Cecil to do something rash and run off. It seems like there’s always someone in charge of you, even when you’re in the nobility. Up until this point, the show has been lighthearted and fun. I wonder if it’s going to get a little darker from here on out.
