Tubi Goes Bold with New Adult Animation Slate from ‘Cyanide & Happiness’ Team and ‘Cartoon Trap House’
In a move that signals a massive commitment to digital-first creators, Tubi—Fox Corporation’s free streaming giant—has officially greenlit a new slate of adult animated series. Headlining the announcement are two high-concept projects from the industry’s most irreverent voices: the team behind the legendary Cyanide & Happiness and the experimental creators of Cartoon Trap House.
The move comes as Tubi continues to leverage its 100 million monthly active users to provide a mainstream home for “niche” internet fandoms that traditional networks often overlook.
America’s Next Top Cryptid: Reality TV Meets Government Conspiracy
From the minds of Rob DenBleyker, Kris Wilson, Adam Nusrallah, and Connor Murphy at ExplosmEntertainment, comes a bizarre new twist on the reality competition genre.
America’s Next Top Cryptid follows a group of aspiring urban legends—think Mothman hopefuls and Bigfoot wannabes—as they compete on a high-stakes reality show to become the next global icon of mystery. However, the stakes turn deadly when the contestants realize they may actually be pawns in a sinister government experiment.
The series is produced by Animation+ Studios, which previously found success bringing The Cyanide & Happiness Show and Purgatony to Tubi. Fans can expect the signature dark humor and sharp social satire that has made Explosm a household name on the internet for two decades.

Toon World Express: The Absurdist Collage
In a departure from traditional narrative storytelling, Tubi is also bringing Toon World Express to its lineup. Created by the Cartoon Trap House trio—Marc M. (Sick Animation), David Dore, and Joey Souza—the series is described as a “mixed-media animated clip show.”
Blending classic animation, collage art, and surrealist sketch comedy, Toon World Express aims to be a fever dream of visual styles. The show is set to feature an “all-star roster” of guest animators and comedy creators, making it a collaborative hub for the indie animation scene.

Why Tubi is Betting on Creators
According to Tubi’s latest cultural insights report, The Stream: When Attention Becomes Intention, a staggering 67% of viewers believe that content from digital-first creators feels more original than traditional TV and movies.
“Tubi continues to be the go-to destination for audiences where bold creator-driven content lives alongside the biggest Hollywood hits,” said Rich Bloom, General Manager of Creator Programs at Tubi. “We’re giving digital-first creators, who know their audiences deeply, a platform to go bigger.”
By partnering with Animation+ Studios and these established internet powerhouses, Tubi is positioning itself as the premier destination for the next generation of adult animation fans who are moving away from cable and toward free, ad-supported platforms.
