WarhammerTV Teases Animation Coming In Spring 2026
The long-awaited alabaster-clad warriors of the Imperium have finally taken center stage. Games Workshop has officially released the first episode of “Adepta Sororitas: Penitence,” a gripping new three-part animated series now streaming exclusively on Warhammer TV.
Marking a major milestone for Warhammer+ in 2026, the series is the first dedicated long-form animation to focus entirely on the Sisters of Battle, following in the high-fidelity footsteps of fan favorites like Pariah Nexus and The Tithes.
The Order of the Sacred Rose
The series follows a squad of Battle Sisters from the Order of the Sacred Rose. Known for their serene but unshakable resolve, these Sisters are tasked with a mission of immense spiritual importance: escorting a holy relic to a sacred site of pilgrimage.
However, the grim darkness of the far future is rarely so simple. After their shuttle is ambushed, the Sisters find themselves stranded in a hostile landscape crawling with savage Snakebite Orks. The first episode, titled “Covenant,” sets the tone for a story that is as much about internal spiritual fortitude as it is about external survival against the xenos threat.
What Makes Penitence Different?
While the Adepta Sororitas have appeared in vignettes before, Penitence gives them room to breathe as protagonists. Early viewers have noted that the series captures the unique “calm within the storm” philosophy of the Sacred Rose. Unlike the bombastic war cries of other Orders, these Sisters intone prayers of fortitude, maintaining a chillingly peaceful demeanor while unleashing righteous violence with bolter and blade.
The show also introduces a narrative mystery centered around a Novitiate seeking redemption, exploring the darker, more personal side of the Imperial Creed..
Release Schedule
Adepta Sororitas: Penitence is a three-part limited series.
-
Episode 1: Covenant is available now.
-
Episodes 2 and 3 are scheduled to follow throughout March, culminating in a finale that promises to test the Sisters’ faith to its breaking point.
For fans of the 41st Millennium, this series represents the beginning of a “bumper year” for animation, with other projects like Aeronautica and the return of Astartes also on the horizon for 2026.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
