English Dub Review: Dead Account “The Anachronistic Exorcist”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
An ambush by Sad Boy K has Soji on the ropes until a timely run-in by a powerful exorcist.
Our Take:
When we were first introduced to Azaki, we would assume that he would play a significant role as the show’s comic relief. However, its fifth episode shows that he’s actually more capable in a fight than his jolly, occasionally wacky behavior suggests. This is due to his particular approach to his exorcism skills, in which he still uses psychokinesis from modern devices to rescue Soji from Sad Boy K. Admittedly, Azaki making a fool of himself and being so cheerful has its moments of amusement, but seeing him in action proves that even the supposed comic reliefs can kick as much ass as those who are not.
The question right now is whether it’ll be enough to subdue Sad Boy K’s cyber wrath for good. In addition to wanting to turn Soji into a dead account, Sad Boy K is seeking a way for the dead accounts to roam outside cyberspace forever. In short, it’s yet another villainous plan from a supernatural antagonist involving the spirits invading the real world, though whether it’d elevate the show’s traditional narrative would depend on the execution. Besides that, the episode is a serviceable aftermath that expands the school’s world-building through its teachers, particularly Nurse Kochi and her ability to heal patients with a phone editor. More importantly, it showcases more of Soji’s urge to avenge his sister by becoming strong enough to defeat Sad Boy K.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
