Prime Video Announces Invincible Season 4 Release Date and Major Villain Casting at NYCC
Prime Video delivered a bloody good surprise to fans at New York Comic Con, officially announcing that the critically acclaimed adult-animated series Invincible will return for its fourth season in March 2026.
In addition to the premiere window, the biggest reveal of the night was the casting of the formidable Viltrumite villain, Thragg, who will be voiced by actor Lee Pace (Foundation, The Hobbit).
Thragg is one of the most powerful and feared figures in the entire Invincible comic book universe. As the Grand Regent of the Viltrum Empire, he is a ruthless and calculating leader, described by Amazon’s official character description as one who “rules his people through strength, cruelty, and will – determined to restore Viltrum to its previous glory at any cost.”
Thragg’s introduction marks a massive escalation in the series’ storyline, setting the stage for the highly anticipated “Viltrumite War” arc from the source material.
Series co-creator and co-showrunner Robert Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly that Pace was the perfect choice, noting that the actor’s experience playing an emperor on Foundation was no coincidence. Kirkman praised Pace’s voice performance for its “warm and calm and confident” nature, adding a chilling sense of menace to the overwhelmingly powerful antagonist.
The announcement was accompanied by a new, fan-favorite teaser trailer, which had a distinctly “Burger Mart” theme. Stars Steven Yeun (Mark Grayson/Invincible) and Gillian Jacobs (Samantha Wilkins/Atom Eve) were on hand, along with Kirkman, to debut the clip to a packed crowd.
While plot details remain largely under wraps, the trailer hinted at Mark continuing to face interdimensional threats, including battles against alternate versions of himself. The fourth season promises to raise the stakes across the board for the lead characters and the fate of Earth as it introduces its greatest threat yet.
Invincible Season 4 is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in March 2026.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
