“Arcane” Season 2 Secures Second Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program

Riot Games and Fortiche Productions’ acclaimed animated series Arcane has once again made its mark in television history, securing the Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program at the 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The win, which recognizes the Season 2 episode “The Dirt Under Your Nails,” marks a repeat victory for the show, which first won the prestigious award in 2022.

The victory solidifies Arcane‘s position as a powerhouse in the animation industry, celebrated for its unique visual style, compelling narrative, and emotional depth. The show beat out a competitive field of nominees, including the long-running animated staples Bob’s Burgers (“They Slug Horses, Don’t They?”) and The Simpsons (“Bart’s Birthday”), as well as fellow Netflix series Love, Death & Robots (“Spider Rose”) and Adult Swim’s Common Side Effects (“Cliff’s Edge”).

In addition to its major win, Arcane picked up multiple other honors, bringing its total to four Emmys for Season 2. The series was also recognized for Outstanding Sound Editing for an Animated Program, a category it also won in 2022. Furthermore, the show received two juried awards for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation, recognizing Bruno Couchinho for Background Design and Faustine Dumontier for Colorscript and Color Keys, both for the episodes “The Dirt Under Your Nails” and “The Message Hidden Within the Pattern,” respectively.

The wins highlight the series’ consistent excellence across all aspects of production, from its breathtaking visuals to its top-tier sound design. The continued recognition from the Television Academy cements Arcane‘s legacy as a groundbreaking series that has redefined what is possible for a video game adaptation and elevated the standard for animated storytelling.
