Adult Swim: Smiling Friends Renewed For Seasons Four And FIve; Primal Slated For 2026 Return
Adult Swim has announced that Smiling Friends will get a two season renewal for seasons four and five ahead of the show’s season three premiere which is expected to hit this fall and will include a Christmas episode. Meanwhile, Genndry Tartakovsky’s Primal is expected to return sometime in 2026. All of this was announced at the Annecy festival with more news expected to hit about the future of the network that just had a number of layoffs announced this week and is expected to be part of a split Warner Bros. Discovery action that will see a number of the Warner companies be a part of two separate conglomerates, one to focus on the cable networks, the other, production(like WB Animation which just upped Adam Galen to VP, Development) and streaming. More as it develops.
Smiling Friends Inc. is a small company whose main purpose is to bring happiness and make people smile. The series follows the day-to-day lives and misadventures of its representatives, the lazy, cynical Charlie, and the cheerful, optimistic Pim, as they try to cheer up and comfort the troubled people who call their company’s hotline. They receive seemingly simple requests but the jobs turn out to be more complicated than they seem, making it difficult to bring happiness to the world.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
