Review: Grimsburg “Mo11y”

When Flute forgets to buy Stan a gift for his birthday, he steals an AI doll from the evidence locker; Wynona is forced to confront her ex-boyfriend.

Our Take

One thing I’ve noticed about Grimsburg over the last season or so, the producers of this show LOVES its parodies. This week’s episode is rife with so many parodies of popular toys and dolls that we get a whole city called Dolltown to house them all. Eventually we get a civil war of epic proportions led on one side by Mo11y, a send-up of the popular M3gan character and on the other side and on the other side Buddy, a send-up of the classic Chucky,  guest-voiced by the hilarious Tom Segura.

At the basis of the episode is a competition premise between divorcee Marvin and Harmony vying for their son’s affection but the paradoxical points of the show are so hilariously written that this week’s episode could’ve been about anything else, in fact we do get a subplot with Greg trying to woo Wynona that at first is pretty vanilla but gets increasingly better when we finally get to the aforementioned valley of the dolls.

Overall, a solid episode of Grimsburg that could be a sure-fire winner for anyone who wants to have fun with a bunch of send-ups of contemporary and historical pop culture references that should provide for enough giggles.
