English Dub Review: Demon Lord 2099 “The Goddess Reincarnated”
Overview:
After heading out into Electric Town, Veltol’s group visits the mansion of the Reynard family. After entertaining them, Hizuki heads for the bathroom… only to find Veltol already there! The next day, Hizuki hears people talking about the explosion in Electric Town.
Our Take:
It has been a while since we got an episode of this show and when we last saw Veltol he was in the bath with Hizuki. So I was a little surprised when the episode started before that, and we got to see Hizuki destroy Veltol in a fighting game. He talked a big game but then got destroyed and she went on to destroy everyone else too. So Veltol decided to relax afterward with a bath and Hizuki didn’t check to see if anyone else was in there.
During bath time she decided to lay out her entire sad backstory and it sounded very similar to a sad bat-themed hero. On her birthday her parents decided to take her out for gifts, dinner, and a show. Then as you’ve probably guessed, they were killed because Hizuki is looked at as a “cursed” child. If I was following correctly she is the vessel for a goddess and now it seems to have been released.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
