English Dub Review: SHY “Fare Thee Well”

Overview:

With their plans thwarted, members of Amarariruku retreat. In the aftermath of the black ball’s collapse, the heroes face the weight of unforeseen consequences to their victory.

Our Take:

At this point of the last season, we already had a continuation confirmed and there has been no such thing so far. That’s disappointing because where this season ended left me wanting more. I want to see what happens with Pepesha and Kufufu after she’s captured by the heroes. Ai not joining the group was a disappointment but something tells me we might see more of her down the line if we get another season. I think the writer knew what they were onto with her character design and knew they had a winner.

If you’re a Yuri fan then I imagine you will be upset with all the bait this series throws at you without following through. I enjoyed this episode even if it left me feeling a little sad. I’ll get more into my season review later but I suppose an anime does its job when it leaves you wanting more. Luckily for us, the SHY manga is available in the US to read so maybe that will have to be how we experience the rest of the story.
