Netflix Series BRZRKR And Blood of Zeus Get Updates From SDCC 2024
When it comes to San Diego Comic-Con, Netflix is one streamer that never seems to give a shit about the yearly event. Between AnimeExpo, Annecy, and a number of online streamer events I guess Netflix feels like it does enough promotion and announcements elsewhere that they don’t feel the need to spend the money at San Diego Comic-Con despite the fact that we have a number of premieres coming in August or so. We did get TWO tidbits of info that should be noted however, one of which is that the animated adaptation of Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR series has announced Mattson Tomlin (Terminator: Zero) as the showrunner of the series that is slated to begin production this fall.
The other big news is that Blood of Zeus has been picked up for a third, and final season which will premiere sometime in 2025. That’s kind of good news except when we realize that creators Charley and Vlas Parlapanides had ideas for up to five seasons so, hopefully, they’ll get to condense those ideas into one last season.
One more day of Comic-Con, we’ll update if we hear anything else newsworthy.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
