English Dub Review: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation “Wedding Reception”

Overview:

The newlyweds have settled into their new home. Next, custom dictates they throw a party for everyone they know. Preparing to host a crowd won’t be easy. And even if they pull it off, the big day has surprises.

Our Take:

I know spoilers are hidden in most anime openings but this one felt like one of the worst. Mushoku Tensei is one of my favorite series, I have all the light novels so I have a good idea of what’s to come, and that OP had a lot of plot points in it. I suppose one nice thing about it is that it gives me an idea of where this season will go and I think everyone will have a great time with this half of the cour.

Rudeus and Sylphie are now married and there is more member of the family to come. No, I don’t mean in THAT way, at least not yet. It turns out that Elinalise is more than likely Sylphie’s grandmother. I have to say I love the focus on family that this part of the story gives and when I read the light novel I imagined Rudeus’ house being a lot smaller but their house is a mansion. This has been one of the best anime adaptations in recent memory and I can’t wait to see what Studio Bind does next.
