English Dub Review: Sasaki and Peeps “Imagination and Counters”

Overview:

Sasaki and Peeps protect Futari Shizuka from her former organization’s leader.

Our Take:

Sasaki and Peeps return home to find Futari Shizuka in trouble. She’s being pursued by her former organization’s leader. He proves to be quite the formidable foe with his psychic ability. It lets him brings his imagination to life. In other words, if he thinks of something, he can conjure it. He’s unable to do so with natural occurrences, but he still manages to find ways to utilize it well.

Peeps has a well-fought battle with him and it also gains them a new ally. Futari Shizuka is also showing her gratitude to Sasaki and Peeps. She agrees to help them out with whatever they need since they saved her life.

This episode picks up a bit from the previous two. I like the fight scene in this episode, as well as the enemy’s psychic ability. He mainly uses it to create powerful weapons from video games, but they still pack a punch.

I also enjoy that we’re seeing more of Sasaki’s banter with Peeps. This wasn’t absent from the last few episodes, but it feels like it’s more fun to watch in this one since the tone is different.

It’s nice to see Futari Shizuka’s turn around. She started off as a villain, but now she’s a full-fledged ally. I’ve been enjoying her character throughout the show, so I’m glad to see that she’s been playing a solid supporting role.
