English Dub Review: The Apothecary Diaries “How to Buy Out a Contract”
Overview:
Back to work at the rear palace, Maomao listens to Guen talk about his family’s business. Meanwhile, Lihaku hears a rumor that whips him into action.
Our Take:
Maomao sure finds herself in a lot of situations that make Jinshi jealous, which doesn’t seem like something that should be as easy as it is. Lihaku wants to buy out Pairin’s contract so that he can marry her. Since Maomao knows the type of man she likes, he goes to her for help. Well, she also knows which body type umm… gets her going. So Maoamo needs to see his body to know for sure, all of it. As you probably guessed Jinshi walked in at the perfect time, or not perfect for Lihaku.
What happened next, I’m still not sure if it was an act of kindness or if Jinshi wanted to get Lihaku as far away from Maomao as possible. Jinshi offered to buy out Pairin’s contract for Lihaku which is a tempting offer but Lihaku decided to handle it himself. I understand but surely he could work out a payment play with Jinshi that would leave his pride intact. But as it turns out Pairin might not have someone trying to buy her out yet.
