The Freak Brothers full season NOW available exclusively on Tubi for a fully bingeable viewing experience. THE FREAK BROTHERS, based on Gilbert Shelton’s cult classic underground comic series, will celebrate its 55th anniversary this year and the show returns with its all-star voice cast— Woody Harrelson, John Goodman, Pete Davidson, Tiffany Haddish, Adam Devine, Blake Anderson, Andrea Savage, La La Anthony and ScHoolboy Q. Joining this season with a special guest appearance is Joe Sikora, who will play “Louis” a calm but passionate proprietor of a local fried chicken restaurant inspired by Gus Fring in Breaking Bad. The series is produced by WTG Enterprises and distributed by global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B).
A familiar animated face will also pop up in the Season Two finale. Tubi brought to life a unique Creator + Brand collaboration in partnership with New Belgium Brewing by inserting their iconic “Voodoo Ranger ” IPA frontman into the wacky world of the animated adult comedy series.
Synopsis: THE FREAK BROTHERS chronicles the escapades of a trio of stoner anti-establishment characters and their smartass cat who wake up from a 50-year nap after smoking a magical strain of weed in 1969, and must adjust to life with a new family in present-day San Francisco. In the second season, the Freaks and Kitty’s Mary Jane-fueled misadventures will take them from their high school reunion to matching wits with Mark Zuckerberg, settling old scores with Mitch McConnell, and battling Seth Rogen in a Pot Brownie Bake-Off contest. Short of getting Roiland back, which I'm sure isn't going to happen, I don't even think they could get much better than the new voices from the previous season. And the ratings for season 7 weren't much lower on average than for season 6; it was pretty much just a normal season-to-season drop that most likely would have happened regardless.
I mean, look at the actual averages:
Season 1 - 1.57 million viewers Season 2 - 1.97 million viewers Season 3 - 2.33 million viewers Season 4 - 1.52 million viewers Season 5 - 0.96 million viewers Season 6 - 0.56 million viewers Season 7 - 0.42 million viewers
Ever since season 3, it had been having steep drops even with Roiland still involved; the season 6 to 7 drop is actually the smallest-percentage drop it's had since it started dropping, and if anything it's possible that changing the voice actors actually *boosted* interest a bit and prevented it from dropping even more.
