English Dub Review: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation “Letter of Invitation”

Overview:

After two years of adventuring with Soldat, Rudeus is no closer to finding his mother or curing his impotence. But the sudden arrival of a seductive elf and an unexpected offer could send his life off in a whole new direction.

Our Take:

I love how it’s just casually mentioned that Rudeus has spent the last two years with Soldat. I’m still curious how the voice acting will change (if at all) as Rudeus gets older because I imagine this anime will adapt the whole series and it pretty much follows all of Rudeus’ life. But for now, he’s still young enough and to be fair Madeline Morris is fantastic and Rudeus isn’t the most macho of men so it should be fine.

He does have a new woman in his life, Elinalise Dragonroad, she’s an elf who was the in the same party as his father Paul. She is quite the seductress but unfortunately for Rudeus that does nothing to help his problem. The thing that is interesting about the fanservice and use of sex in this series is that a lot of times it serves a purpose. It’s not just there to keep you interested, though it does that too, but it progresses some characters and explains others. I never thought the “erectile dysfunction arc” of an anime would be so interesting but here we are.
