English Dub Review: Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun “Master Bachiko”
Overview
Iruma and Lead end up being trained by Robin’s relative, Barbatos Bachiko. Bachiko is very skilled and was personally asked by Sullivan to assist Robin with tutoring the kids. They were supposed to have a rather hard training schedule… but all Bachiko asks them to do is random errands. Lead has had enough of that and goes back to Robin. Iruma is left frustrated and alone. He learns that Asmodeus and Clara have been training and decides to take matters into his own hands!
Our Take
This time around, we get another school-related episode with Iruma doing Iruma things such as being a pushover to Bachiko whose teachings are less than helpful, at least until his “grandfather” Sullivan shows up asking about his progress which gave me a good laugh, it felt like she was rightfully being called out and she didn’t have a straight answer to give but now Bachiko is getting up off her lazy ass and showing Iruma how to make a magical weapon.
The secret meeting of the Misfit Class-turned-horror session and the various pieces of training from the various tutors all have their types of challenges and setbacks, some extravagant. At the very least, it’s good to see the others doing better. But despite all that, they most certainly didn’t want to lose their position in the Royal One, much less achieve their Dalet ranks.
Overall, this was an alright episode, not a standout or memorable by any means besides Bachiko’s bloodline magic being shown at the end and some minor revelations of what others have been up to. But episodes like these are bound to happen in the buildup towards future storylines. We even get a minor tease of what Bachiko’s magic capabilities are. And I’m quite curious about the building she and Iruma went to visit at the end of the episode but I guess we won’t know until next week…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
