English Dub Review: Spy x Family “DISARM THE TIME BOMB”

Overview:

Anya meets a mysterious dog who can see into the future. They were able to escape from the terrorists with the dog’s help, but eventually, they fall back into the hands of the terrorists again. And then Yor shows up and attacks the enemy! Soon after, the dog sees into the future again. The vision Anya saw through the dog’s mind was Loid unconscious and buried under the remains of a building that had been bombed. In order to stop this future from happening, Anya and the dog head to the place where the incident happens!

Our Take:

Nothing was more heartbreaking than when Anya saw a possible future with Loid dead. How sad she and Yor looked was like a dagger to my heart. It does make me wonder what would happen if something did happen to Loid. Would Yor continue to take care of Anya? She and Loid are technically married therefore making Anya her responsibility. That would be an interesting alternate history to see, perhaps Anya would become an assassin too.

But lucky for us that was not to be, Anya somehow succeeded in warning Loid that there was a bomb using ketchup. This episode was par for the course for Spy x Family and what I mean by that is that it was great. The only negative I recall seeing was some of the CGI used on a car was a bit janky. It is something I am willing to give them a pass on because everything else has been so great though.
