English Dub Review: She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man “I Do Not Dislike This Sort of Turn of Events”
Overview
Still, on Soul Howl’s trail, Mira comes across a fort that could use some help fighting monsters…
Our Take
During the course of her quest assigned by Solomon to investigate a place called the “Child of Prayer forest”, Mira takes a detour and ends up helping some people in a fort while further continuing to spread the word of Evocation Magic. It was also nice to see Mira save that woman yet ironic when you see how her magical solution plays out.
It was also pretty refreshing to see Mira being a support unit with her knowledge on healing magic and using summons for defense instead of offense this time instead of being the one on the frontlines fighting. There’s also a new clue that whoever is causing trouble is putting monsters out of their usual habitats in ecosystems that can’t handle them. Of course what made me cringe the most was it’s ending after obtaining information the forest gods demand a very uncomfortable request from Mira that even made me cringe in combination with the opening which involved jokes about putting on women’s underwear…
Overall, this was a weird but well-paced episode that feels almost like filler with the Detour Mira took. However the ending while it attempts to be comical in regards to a request from the forest Gods that Mira speaks to, comes across as creepy and unsettling. Why is this anime so obsessed with urination and panty shots? I really don’t get it, why do they sabotage their own anime with weird and stupid shit like this? The animation is good, the characters are fun and the scenery is lush and colorful with it’s setting, but then you get blindsided by wacky jokes about urination and women’s underwear? I’m hoping there’s an end-goal to all of this because most of these episodes almost feel like they don’t lead anywhere…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
