English Dub Review: I’m Standing on a Million Lives “I Know, Let’s Go to Jiffon”

Overview:

The second season of the isekai anime I’m Standing on a Million Lives. Yusuke and everyone gets transported back to the other world. This time they have another new party member, Keita Torii, he seems sketchy to everyone. He has a beef with Yusuke for hitting his brother so they have a duel. They now have the ability to fast travel and use it to go to Cortonel. Here they discover that fifteen years have passed since the last time they were here. Kahvel now has two children, later that night she kisses Yosuke and apologizes for getting older without him. The party then heads to Jiffon to attempt to complete their quest.

Our Take:

I’m a pretty emotional person and I am also very much into romance wherever I can find it. So the scene where Kahvel confesses how she loved Yusuke and kisses him was really heartbreaking. I really didn’t expect that from a dumb, fun isekai show. Didn’t really plan on ugly crying so it took me a while to rebound. That is going to be a hard episode to top, from an emotional standpoint at least.

One of the things I don’t like about Crunchyroll dubs is that it is so difficult to track down who is voicing who. They provide the main characters but that’s about it. I bring this up cause a new party member joined the group but I can’t pin down who voices them. It sounded a bit like Griffin Burns but I will touch on that more when I got something more definitive.

Speaking of voice talent, I’m Standing on a Million Lives was when Zeno Robinson broke out. He had a few big roles to be sure but I am pretty sure this was the first time he voiced a lead. He has been super busy since then and has become one of my favorite voice actors. I binged the entire first season and really loved what I heard from him.

The quest sees the group needs to take down an orc queen so that a famous festival on Jiffon can take place. If the second season is anywhere the same as the first one, this might take a while. What sets this apart from other isekai is the fact that they can return to their own world. But they rarely do for very long which is a bit of a disappointment. I am always in the mood for isekai though so I am excited about this season.
