HBO MAX News: A Second Game of Thrones Animated Spin-off Is In The Works ; Rick and Morty Cameo In “Space Jam”
The Hollywood Reporter teased an animated series in development inspired by the George R.R. Martin books Game of Thrones, and now the trade is reporting that there are two additional animated series in the works, one set to take place in The Golden Empire of Yi Ti. The Chinese-inspired setting has never really seen a lot of time spent with in the original live-action franchise, and is in addition to a multitude of adult animation originals slated for HBO MAX that already includes Harley Quinn (a Toonami marathon of the series is coming August 7th), Close Enough, and the recent Emmy-nominated South Park.
Speaking of the Emmys, the Emmy-winning Rick and Morty franchise gets a quick cameo in the new Space Jam: A New Legacy film starring LeBron James, Bugs Bunny, and other popular characters from the Looney Tunes. One of those characters, Taz, gets returned to the team after Rick and Morty attempt to do some experiments. Here’s a clip from the movie that may or may not be taken down by the time you read this. In any case, you can watch the new Space Jam film in theaters this week or on HBO MAX.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
