First Look: ‘BLACK-ISH’ Stars Are Getting Animated For Premiere Episode
The Johnsons and “black-ish” return to ABC with a special one-hour television special on SUNDAY, OCT. 4 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. The two back-to-back episodes, which will air ahead of the official season seven premiere on WEDNESDAY, OCT 21 (9:30-10:00 p.m. EDT), will follow the Johnsons as they navigate the upcoming election, with Junior (Marcus Scribner) embarking on his journey as a first-time voter and Dre (Anthony Anderson) launching an exploration into local politics.
The special will be presented in part as an animated episode and ABC has revealed a first-look at the character artwork for the upcoming episode that you can see below. The artwork comes from Smiley Guy Studios who has done numerous animated series including Corner Gas Animated, Todd & The Book of Pure Evil, and Warren United, so the studio has ample experience in adapting live-action properties for animated adaptations.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
