Crunchyroll Games Avoids Controversy After Casting Call Gains Social Ire From Actors
Crunchyroll Games probably couldn’t have picked a worse week to have this come out, fortunately action has been taken and the issue has since been corrected. But in the days following #animationpaidme and animation writers salary grids being posted with Google Sheets, this is probably the last thing Crunchyroll would’ve wanted to happen:

As you can see the rates posted about casting call for an upcoming game produced by Gaudium in association with Viz Media and Crunchyroll gained a bit of steam from professional voice actors who have felt left out of the casting process as these rates were posted far-under SAG-AFTRA minimums. Crunchyroll has since remedied this and put out the following statement:

Our Take
There you have it folks! Disaster averted, right? Well, as I wrote the other day in writing about #animationpaidme, I think more of this is on the way. The best of the best will be fought over setting record-high prices for voice actors and producers. The other end of it is this. The price being allocated is one thing, but how many voice acting applications do you think went into to Gaudium before Crunchyroll stepped in? Had this gone unnoticed, we would’ve had the English dubbed Grand Alliance game voiced by *checks notes* pretty much anybody else.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
