Streaming News: “The Simpsons” All Screwed Up On Disney+ ; “Rick and Morty” To Showmax In Jo-Burg Land

Fans of The Simpsons were surprised to find out that among the first 30 seasons available on the newly released streaming service (season 31 is on Hulu), is the fact that the show is being presented in widescreen and not the original and preferred 4:3 aspect ratio. As a result, viewers are complaining about squished scenes and even prominent background gags being cut-out entirely.

No report on a fix and when we reached out there wasn’t any comment. Fortunately, we have new episodes of The Simpsons airing on FOX every Sunday Night in good ol’ fashioned TV.

South Africa’s Showmax streaming service will be the exclusive home for Rick and Morty Season Four starting November 18th where new episodes will be released every week.

Rick and Morty is the Emmy-award-winning half-hour animated hit comedy series on Adult Swim that follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Rick Sanchez is living with his daughter Beth’s family and constantly bringing her, his son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty into intergalactic escapades.

Rick and Morty stars Justin Roiland (Adventure Time), Sarah Chalke (Scrubs), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live), and Spencer Grammer (Greek). The series is created by Dan Harmon (Community) and Roiland, who also serve as executive producers.
