Meet Courtney, a girl at school that seems to be somewhat interested in Gene and his outgoing personality. Later at lunch, the Belcher kids get wind of a crush which pretty much gives it away for Louise and Tina, but Gene finds out the hard way that yes, Courtney has a crush on Gene and she wants him to be her boyfriend. Courtney’s friends make it official and blast off we have a relationship! Apparently, Courtney is really annoying and Gene wants to get out of it ASAP. His dad tells him to call it off before it gets bad, but Courtney seems to really be into Gene and makes it known all through out school by passing around notes and holding hands. Bob starts to also feel the pain of Courtney’s personality as he has to drive Gene and the girls to the movies of which almost turns crazy(you ever been kicked while driving?? IT SUCKS!). This proves to be the final straw and after discussing it with his siblings, Gene decides to go over to Courtney’s house to break it off, but Gene becomes infatuated with her dad’s music instrument collection. Turns out, Courtney’s dad is named Dough and he is in the music business and as long as the relationship stays good, Gene has an all-access pass to his shit.

Meet Gretchen, a lady that works at the salon of whom just lost 15lbs on a new diet that consists of eating just fruit and vegetable skins.  After hearing all about it and seeing its results first hand, Linda vows to lose a bunch of weight so she can look hot, too. It isn’t too long that Linda’s food cravings are almost going out of control and she’s fading from lack of real food.

Courtney throws a birthday party and all of the Belchers are there and right away Linda loses her shit and starts to eat everything in sight. Later on in the party, Gene causes Courtney to collapse after he asks her to stop breathing during his song that was meant for her dad. Gene takes the ride over to the hospital where he breaks up with Courtney of whom retaliates with a cruel prank. Linda stops her ridiculous diet, and Gene learns an important lesson…copyright EVERYTHING!

This week was SO close to being a great episode, but Linda’s plot was so cliched and overdone that it became more annoying than anything Courtney could do. Speaking of Courtney, David Wain turns in the vocal performance of his career, helping put together one of the more memorable character interpretations that seemed to work SO well with this cast. Yes, we all know David is great in Superjail, but David really turned it up quite a few notches in Bob’s Burgers, showing quite a few critics that he has a pretty versatile voice box. Tina had some great one-liners this week, too especially when working with Gene on his break-up methods. I also really enjoyed an episode where Gene was the center of attention, and I think the writers are really doing a concerted effort of alternating the kids in story lines this season as opposed to just lumping them together week after week.
