English Dub Review: Brave Witches “Grape Juice for Your Eyes”
Mmmm…grape juice.
Brave Witches enters with possibly its best episode yet in “Grape Juice for Your Eyes.” The 501st Joint Fighter Wing, or Brave Witches, are sent a shipment. Among the loot is an FP-45 Liberator charm as well as rolls of microfilm.
It’s revealed that the Warlick which was destroyed was a machine created with a Neuroi core which was intended to destroy the Neuroi. The concept is that it takes a Neroi to fight the Neuroi, like fire to fight the fire. Nipa, and Naoe test out a set of new flight units. Meanwhile, Waltrud Krupinski guzzles loads of grape juice, which happens to be fermented. As such, Krupinski reaps the reward of a major hangover.
Like “On a Holy Night,” where the girls all ate mushrooms and started tripping, this was an unexpected moment which injected levity and fun. There’s a lot of lore and gadgetry. The new unit types and weapons lend a bit more insight into the Brave Witches universe. It’s also fascinating seeing the witches assist a naval fleet. The juxtaposition between non-magical fighting and enhanced warfare is stark.
Additionally, music and animation are on point. I’m still not a big fan of mixing 2d and 3d artwork. Rather than looking modern and sophisticated, it’s usually just jarring. But these moments are scarce. With “Grape Juice for Your Eyes,” Brave Witches clocks in another enjoyable episode. While it remains upbeat and positive, there’s a pretty unexpected moment at the finale. With its superb technical aspects as well as delightful plot, this might be the strongest Brave Witches episode to date.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
