#8 OF THE 10 BEST ANIMATED SERIES ON TELEVISION IN 2012…SO FAR
We are at the halfway point of our fair television viewing year and as such we thought it’d be bad ass to do a list of the highest scoring animated series of 2012…so far. After the jump, see who made the list with contributions made by all of our writers. Now to see who is number 8 on the best animated series in the first half of 2012…
#8
That’s right, there are TWO FX shows on this list and TWO shows with Jon Benjamin. What does that mean?? Not a clue, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that Archer was one of the best shows of the year. I mean, BURT FREAKIN’ REYNOLDS!! That episode alone could’ve carried this season into the stratosphere, instead writer Adam Reed wrote a two part finale that literally took the ISIS crew TO beyond the stratosphere and oh yea it guest starred Bryan Cranston. A bunch of shit happened this season too, Sterling’s wife came back to life as a cyborg, Ray Gillette was put in a wheel chair, and Pam started hooking up with Archer!
More than that though, Archer does a lot of things that make it one of the best shows not just in animation, but on any kind of television. For one, its certainly one of the sexiest shows on TV not only in terms of the amount of banging, but look at how the characters dress, look at how the characters act, there is no other animated series on TV that exudes that amount of sexual prowess anywhere. Usually, animated series are all about gags and mocking someone at their own expense(which of course Archer has plenty of), but due to the setting and subject matter its probably a little tougher to stay topical, as such when all else fails….BOOBIES! Also, out of every animated series on television, maybe the best one in terms of art direction sans maybe Metalocalypse is Archer as you can definitely tell Floyd Productions lead by Matt Thompson, certainly makes a concerted effort to give you some of the best animation in the business with the increased production dollars they get and it works.
Take all these ingredients, and Archer undoubtedly earns a spot in one of the best shows of 2012….so far!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
